Noah and Aaron on the Effects of Healthcare Expansion in the Dayton Area
Will hospital expansion in the Dayton area lower rising healthcare prices? Good Samaritan hospital recently announced a $28 million dollar expansion to its complex. Additionally, Indu Raj Soin Medical Center has also announced an $8 million plan to build an addition to its own emergency center. This represents a large investment in infrastructure within the Montgomery County as well as Greene County, with the potential to make health care more affordable. From 2001 to 2011, the healthcare CPI has increased 2.45% annually. Today on Economics, That's My Style we interview Marilee Pretzinger, the Volunteer Coordinator at Indu Raj Soin Medical center to see if emergency center expansion could affect the growing healthcare costs.
