Impact of the Affordable Care Act on the City of Kettering
This podcast was created by juniors in the Economics class at the Dayton Regional STEM School and explores the connection between a large scale economic event and the impact it has on their local businesses. The podcast specifically explores the effects of the Affordable Care Act and the impact it has had on the local government of the city of Kettering. Research on the topic started with a Dayton Daily News article on "Obamacare" and then branched out to include websites from both sides of the issue and lists of hours that have been cut. The students also interviewed Mr. Mark Schwieterman, the City Manager of Kettering, to get an in-depth perspective on the effects of the ACA.
